Meet the Director

Jacob Salisbury (he/they) is a performing arts educator, musician, and artist. Originally from a rural town in the Lansing area, he graduated summa cum laude from Central Michigan University with a B.M.E. in Choral Music Education. He currently works as the Director of Choirs and Theatre for Gladwin Community Schools, where he directs four choral ensembles as well as two theatrical productions (and several goofy choir social events!) each year. He has presented professionally at conferences in Michigan and Boston, performed in choral tours across the country, and studied vocal music while abroad in Italy.

While connecting with students through performing arts is a passion of his, Jake enjoys a variety of opportunities to connect, serve, and create outside of work as well! He loves to travel and pursues hobbies including creative writing, songwriting, and hiking. He sits on the Board of Directors at Wesley CMU and enjoys performing in Midland music venues and showcases. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the area with his partner and their cats, Lucy and Rex, as they settle into making Midland home.
